Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
Watching the channel 10 news tonight and during an ad break Marvel Eaglemoss lead figurines with magazines were advertised starting with issue 1 Spider-man at newsagents weekly. I have bought a couple of the obscure characters awhile back (Son of Satan & Jack of Hearts) but really wasn't expecting them to be released here as they are up to about 160 now in England and the U.S.A. Don't know how successful they will be here but they are well sculpted and painted and the magazines with each character informative. They are just a tad short to blend in with the Marvel Universe scale but would probably make up an awesome chess set.

I've seen these before. How much were they advertised for?

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
I actually didn't catch the price..... usually the first week is cheap and then it jumps up from issue 2 with these weekly mags and collector things. Anyone else catch the ad or a price?

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
I have a few from back home when they were originally released, they look great but I'm pretty sure they started to hit about the 10 quid mark ($22) at that time. So they were pretty pricey.

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
Ouch!!!
I'll check out the local newsagent but at that price weekly on top of what I already spend on figures I'd be heading for the divorce court. Thanks UCK.
DBF...with the couple I have already (bought for $5.00 each at a Toy Fair), I did find the magazines that accompany the figures to be quite informative on the history of the character with covers, artwork and appearances.

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
I think the first issue is $4.95 and each issue after is $14.95... from the looks of it though there are about 200 figurines! There is a DC Comics one aswell that hasn't reached here yet with about 100 figurines already in that subscription. I collect the James Bond Car Collection that has been going on since 2007 and recently got issues 108 and 109. Bissett Magazines are pretty good with these sorts of things... I have had about 6 or 7 cars broken on arrival and each and every time they have replaced them no questions asked... they have never even asked for the broken ones back.

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
Just bought one from the local newsagent and you were just about spot on with the price. $4.99 for No.1 then fortnightly at $14.99. Also they are done in metallic resin not lead like the overseas ones and it specifies lead free paint so they avoid breaching any safety protocols attached to lead figurines.
Even if you don't get them regularly the first one is a must buy for Marvel fans as the attached magazine and introduction booklet is in high grade paper with great artwork cross-sections, history, charts and how they are made.
Hm-mm fortnightly at $14.99, I might be able to manage that.

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
I picked mine up from the newsagent at my local shopping center. However there are a couple of things like a display stand available to subscription holders. I want to find out whether that means online subscription or are they available if you subscribe at your local newsagent. Any large newsagent near you should have plenty of issue one.

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
They also had figures only available to subscribers the reason i remember was the figure was the hulk!
It's not a bad price point as the quality of the figures are very good, i have spidey wolverine and silver surfer and they look great.

hmmm I'd probably get the DC version of these, can't see them being as popular / viable as Marvel here sadly though

Its funny, but the mag holds more value for me, a small character library as such, would fit in nicely in my room....

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
Don't think I can justify getting these little dudes. It's quite a commitment.
$14.99 for 2 figures every month for 200 (and counting) overall collection.
I could be paying for this when I'm 40! The James Bond Car Collection is bad enough. It was originally meant to go to 54 issues and is now up to 110 and still going! They do look pretty good though.

Hey Andrew, my local newsagent still has a couple of No.1. If you want I can grab you one at cost + postage.

My info is that this is only being trialed in South Australian newsagents at present. I would expect that distribution would go national before Christmas though.

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
Didn't know that. It seems a strange decision to use S.A. as a trial point and will that mean other states will be behind the whole series or do a catchup?
Try the web site given with the magazine www.marvel-figurines.com.au or call 03-9872-4000. It might shed some more light.

Re: Marvel Eaglemoss Figurines
Saw the Spidey and Wolverine ones at a random news agent in Alice Springs while I was there for work, was tempted to grab them but didn't want to start collecting something else (I knew if I started I'd have to keep going - and it would be hard as I haven't seen them in QLD)

The Thing is this fortnights figure and magazine. There was actually some info in there on Ben Grimm that I didn't know. (or perhaps had forgotten)
